Game ReCap #5: Four In A Row

All games are not created equal. For the past few weeks Union S.C. has made quick work of its opponents and broken club records for scoring points. The 5th game of the 2010 season was a different story. Instead of a quick score and early lead, this time Burud Town struck first. Then Union S.C. handed the Stags a gift when Davey Arnaud was ejected from the game allowing them another score. The Blues finally got it going when Steve Zakuani scored followed by another contribution from team captain DeRosario. This was going to be a tough game. Burud Town has a very capable squad and it didn't help that we lost Joseph and LeToux from our active roster during the week. Wondolowski, who would not have been given a starting roll if not for LeToux's absense, scored in his first game in a Blues uniform. Sasha Kljestan also scored for the second game in a row and appears to be finding his grove. It wouldn't be a Union S.C. game if the club didn't leave points on the bench. This time Ibrahim's goal was wasted. Meanwhile, Donovan Ricketts was 6 minutes away from another clean sheet. It would not be needed on this night. Union S.C. is on a roll, but still remains in 2nd place in the standings behind the St. Louis Cure as well as being in 2nd place in APG for the league.
